
A military leader and part-time poet Caocao was a famous during the political havoc after the fall of the Han dynasty. He was a major general, leader of the Wei Kingdom, and suffered a major defeat at Red Cliff.

Legend has it his death was caused by drowning in a pond after the drunk Li Bai leaned to observe the moon's reflection on the water surface and accidentally fell in.

Also a Tang Dynasty poet. He was born a little after Li Bai, but did not experiance Li Bai's political success. Du Fu's poems focus of realism and tragedy.
